September News
First, an August recap!
I participated in the August L’After Hours show at Artisan ABQ. This is the last week to see it before the next show goes up, so head on over there to check it out! It’s a really fun show.
Then I went to Paonia, CO (via Crested Butte…look I saw a moose!!) for a geology + art event and booksigning. The book. Paonia Books. It was awesome. There was a little talk about the geology on Saturday evening and then Sunday we took a group of people to the river to see some geology and do a little sketching. Then we went back to the workshop space to translate our sketch into a painting. It was my first time giving a workshop and we all had a lot of fun. I think they took some good things away from the workshop and I learned a few things too.
The experience reminded me that when I was in graduate school (for geology) I really loved teaching. So it would be pretty fun to do that teaching thing again. It also made me realize that there's quite a bit of stuff floating around in my head that could be useful to others and I don’t usually think that kind of thing about myself. So that was pretty cool.
At some point, I’ll be making some online workshop content to have here on my website. I think I’ll start taking more video while I’m painting first. I’ve been talking about it forever. It’s time.
So for September…the news is really no news. haha I’m really excited because I can spend some time in the studio. I was thinking that I would do a booth at the Corrales Harvest Festival which is September 30 - October 1. I might be too late though. I’ll need to fill out this app that’s been sitting next to my computer since early July. haha oof
Anyway…if I do that, then I’ll update here! Talk to you soon!
